‘The Voice of the Comox Valley Glacier Kings’, Darryl Skender, has been named the Hockey TV Broadcaster of the Month for September 2018. Darryl is in his third season with the GKings and brings a wealth of broadcasting experience to the booth. He broadcasted BCHL Powell River Kings back in his early days and in Saskatchewan called for three SJHL teams including the Broncos and RBC Cup games in 2008 and 2009.

Darryl is fun to listen to and he calls an energy-filled descriptive game. That’s what the Hockey TV folks heard in September when they made the very wise decision to name him Hockey TV Broadcaster of the Month.

Glacier Kings Governor Marsha Webb appreciates what the skilled broadcaster brings to the organization, “We would like to congratulate Darryl on this recognition. We are very proud and fortunate to have Darryl as part of our team and we would like to thank him for the amazing and professional job that he does.”

Darryl Skender can be heard most Saturday nights (7:30 PT) on Hockey TV and will be part of the 2019 Cyclone Taylor Cup broadcast team along with Larenzo Jensen (Nanaimo Buccaneers), Kyle Ireland (Oceanside Generals) and Mark Berry (Campbell River Storm).
