Earlier this summer the Westshore Wolves announced that Brandon Tutte had committed to the University of Alabama to continue his hockey career.

The Alabama Men’s Hockey Team was founded in 2005 and competes at the ACHA Division 1 level.

“I’m just getting settled here in Alabama. I’m excited to get the season started and make the jump to College Hockey.”

The Victoria product finished third in league scoring this past season with 58 points including 25 goals. He led the league in Power Play goals with 15. Overall Tutte suited up for 162 games over four seasons in the VIJHL and all but 15 games in a Wolves jersey.

The 6’1”, 185 pound playmaker was honoured in his final year of Junior hockey with the Walt McWilliams Memorial Award as the VIJHL’s unsung hero and the league’s Jamie Robertson Trophy awarded to the player who best exemplifies sportsmanship and ability.

“I loved my time in Westshore and appreciate them helping me get here. I wish them the best of luck this season.”

Congratulations Brandon and good luck this season.
